Marriage

“The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.”  CCC, 1601

The sacrament of matrimony is celebrated for a man and a women wishing to be wed in Christian Marriage. The couple must call the the parish before setting the date of marriage and at least 8 months prior to the desired date.

Marriage Preparation Consists of:

  • Regular meetings with clergy and mentor couple.
  • FOCCUS inventory
  • NFP Class
  • Marriage Retreat Weekend

Here is an overview of the structure of the marriage preparation process at St. Andrew the Apostle and St. John the Evangelist.

The parishes use a marriage preparation program entitled “God’s Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage.” This program is a 6 session video series.
